In life we are influenced by so many things, including our experiences, our past, our families and friends and even our hopes and dreams and the list can continue. Each area of our lives there is some form of influence.
Influence can be bold and obvious or quiet and invisible. When something has influence in our lives it impacts how we think, our view on certain topics and ultimately it assists in forming the decisions that we make. As you may have read in my previous posts or publications and workbooks; each decision we make shapes our lives by placing us on very specific paths. Our next decision will determine if we make a left or right or stay straight. Decisions are extremely powerful & life changing.
For all the reasons above, it's to your benefit to think about and understand the things and people in your life, that are in your life’s audience, that are consciously and unconsciously assisting you in shaping your world.
Here’s a one thing you want to & one thing you don’t want to see in those people:
You want them to be your life cheerleader. Someone that truly wants to see you succeed. Unfortunately that is not “everyone”.
You don’t want a “yes man/woman”, someone that says yes to everything you say and do. Why? Because we are not right 100% of the time. We need people in our lives who are willing to tap our shoulders when we are about to make mistakes.
This is connect to #2, choose people who choose you. Don't try fitting a square in a circle. Though you may meet someone you would love to be friends with, if they don't choose you too - move on. If its meant to be, your friendship will connect at a later date & time.
Surround yourself with people that bring value to your life, even if that just to make you smile and people who want to help you accomplish your goals & dreams; even if that’s just to cheer you on.
Below is any encouraging statement to dwell on:
“There will always be a reason why you meet certain people. Either you need them to change your life or you’re the one who will change theirs.” - author Unknown
